Portland East-Side Combined Sewer Overflow Project 

As part of the East Side Combined Sewer Overflow Project, McDonald Excavating, Inc. was hired by Kiewit Bilfinger-Berger to make the final tie-ins at Outfall 38 Located in the Centeral Eastside District of Portland. This work included tying 24” and 42” RCP pipes to the main tunnel shaft which conveys the storm water to the large 22’ diameter tunnel. Located in a busy urban environment this work included deep excavation near existing structures that required positive “slide rail” shoring systems. This work included many challenges that we were able to mitigate and finish the project on-time and within budget.
